Be Part of the Sápmi Triennale!
You are warmly invited to participate in the very first edition of the Sápmi Triennale! We are specifically looking for artists with a Sami background, residing in or outside of Sápmi, to join us in this exciting event. The first edition of the triennial will be part of the European Capital of Culture in Bodø, 2024, and in Oulu, 2026.The Sápmi Triennale offers a unique opportunity to explore and celebrate Sami art and culture through a diverse range of expressions. Oulu Art Museum, Oulu 2026The traveling exhibition opens in August 2024 in Bodø and ends in 2026.We welcome applications from:
Visual artists (graphics, drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, installation, sound, performance)
Daidda Duodji practitioners (wood, horn, bone, roots, leather, fur, textile, metal)
Filmmakers (art film/short film and video art)
Our focus is on contemporary art and Daidda duodji (art). Works from the year 2020 or later will be considered.Applicants:
Individuals with Sami background and connection.
No requirement for membership in an artist organization.
Applicants from all different career stages are encouraged to apply.
Each artist can submit a maximum of five artworks.Conditions:
There are no costs to apply.
Transportation and insurance will be covered by the Triennale.
Artists selected for the exhibition will receive an artist fee, according to the standards of each country.Jury:
