Announcement: Production Scholarship for Visual Artists in Sápmi for 2023

Sámi Dáiddaguovddáš (SDG) / the Sámi Center for Contemporary Art announces three production scholarships for visual artists who are interested in producing exhibitions or projects in 2023.

Scholarships are made possible by delegated funds from Bildende Kunstneres Hjelpefond (BKH) through the SDG.

Three scholarships, 50,000 NOK each, will be distributed.


Application Requirements

– Brief description of how the scholarship is intended to be used (max. 1 page), including sample sketches or images (max. 3 images) and a proposed budget

– Statement of the project’s geographical location

– Completed agreement for the exhibition venue in the geographical region of Sapmi (except Russia)

– Curriculum vitae

Other Application Criteria

– The exhibition or project must be presented to a public audience

– Collaboration with other artistic partners is permitted

– Project financing from other sources is permitted

– The project must be completed before the end of 2023.

Applications are considered by the Sami Center for Contemporary Art Council and the invited curators, with the board making the final decisions. The award will be announced through SDG’s website and a separate press release.

Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend an event in Karasjok on 23rd February 2023.
