Maren Uthaug is a writer, comic artist and blogger originally from Kautokeino. She later moved to Denmark and lives in Copenhagen. The debut novel “Og sånn ble det” is about a Sami girl who moves to Denmark. The author says that it is not self-biographical. She has published several satirical comic books about Sami culture. In 2018 she received the DR Roman Prize for the book “Hvor der er fugle”. Danish press gave brilliant criticism. The author has also received high reviews from the Norwegian paper VG for the novel “Og sånn ble det”.
